Fast Facts About Superstition Springs
The area known as Superstition Springs is home to about 11,000 people in Mesa AZ. The borders are well-defined with E. Southern Avenue to the north, E. Guadalupe Road to the south, and S. Sossaman Road to the east.
Superstition Golf Course runs along its western border, which ends at the intersection of Power Road and East Guadalupe Road. This brings the lower edge close to the Mesa-Gilbert border.
When you live in this community, there’s always something fun to do. It has numerous restaurants, a mall, grocery stores and big box stores all within a few minutes of any home.
Superstition Springs Center boasts a unique, two-tiered carousel for kids as part of its large indoor mall. The Center amphitheater hosts area events and a free concert series.
It’s not far from our community to HoHoKam Stadium where we can enjoy Major League Baseball during its Cactus League spring training. Now the home of the Oakland A’s, it was the home of the Chicago Cubs for many years. The Cubs are at home in another Mesa stadium, Sloan Park.

Golf in Superstition Springs AZ
Our area has two golf courses within Superstition Springs and four more just outside our borders. The sunny weather keeps us busy with golf year round.
The Desert Sands Golf Course opened in 1969, completing its second nine holes in 1970. The par 65 course lets you drive through 79 acres and 4,029 yards of airways. The practice area includes a large putting green, a sand-bunker chipping area, and a 300-year driving range.
Superstition Springs Golf Club has a championship golf course that once hosted a PGA Tour Qualifying event. This par-72 course sprawls over 7,005 yards of lush greens, lovely water features, and towering palm trees. It’s an oasis that makes a wonderful backdrop for playing golf. The club has a practice facility with a driving range and other features.
Just north of the community, you can play a round at Coyote Run Golf Course or the Fountain of the Sun Country Club. In between the two, the Arizona Golf Resort has a top-rated par-72 course.
To the east, the par-61 course at Augusta Ranch features 18 holes over 3,846 yards. Play is faster with less ground to cover, and the surroundings are green and beautiful.
Scenic Drives and Parks Near Superstition Springs AZ
For hiking, mountain biking and natural views, there are many parks near the community. The lower Sonoran Desert landscape is the draw for the San Tan Mountain Regional Park. A five-star archery range is a hallmark of nearby Usery Mountain Regional Park.
Bird watchers will especially like the Riparian Preserve nearby in Gilbert. More than 200 species of birds have been spotted there. Sports facilities nearby include the Cactus Yards and the Paloma Sports Center.
With our community just 15 minutes or so from Apache Junction, one of the most historical scenic drives in the state is close by. The Apache Trail is paved for a good portion. Then it turns into a dirt road and eventually an actual trail.
Also known as State Route 88, the road takes you through the Superstition Mountains. The hills are covered in Saguaro. Views include red rock cliffs, hoodoos, broad vistas, and deep canyons. This steep road is definitely not for people afraid of heights, but the scenery is worth every minute of the trip.
